Biafra: Onyeka Onwenu Calls Out To Biafrans To Invest

She must have a cogent reason for her statement declaring Biafra is coming! Igbos should go home and invest, says multiple award-winning music goddess, Onyeka Onwenu.

Nigerian singer and actress, during a virtual pre-book launch briefing of her memoir, ‘My Father’s Daughter’, billed for October 1, urge Igbos to return home and invest, adding that Biafra is coming.

According to her, she will choose South-east over her husband’s native land, if Nigeria breaks up.

The 68-year-old actress, who is married to a Yoruba man, said her decision if Nigeria splits, will be due to her commitment to contribute to the development of the south-east, which she said, has been marginalised for long.

She recalled once joking with her sister-in-law, who is a Muslim, that she will leave her children for “Biafra” if the country divides.

“If that happens (referring to Nigeria breaking up), I will go back to the southeast because I want to go back home. And even if we don’t split, I want to do so much in the southeast,” she said.
