Kamala Harris, A New Tenant In The White House

By: Thomas Peretu
In America everything is possible.
Howbeit, Ms Kamala Harris is the first Black woman to be elected Vice President of the most powerful nation on earth.
Kamala’s mother migrated to the USA from India at the age of 19. Her father was a migrant from Jamaica.
Kamala as a Public Prosecutor and Attorney General and former Senator is not alien to being the first in all her career choices in public service. This daughter of immigrant parents becoming the first Black and Asian woman to be a tenant in the White House for the next four years after over 230 years of democratic experience in America tells us that the American dream is alive.
How I wish we can replicate this democratic achievement in Nigeria. I dream of a country, where every man and woman has an equal right and opportunity to aspiring to the highest office in the land irrespective of religion, tribe or other narrow lines and cleavages and barriers and land mines laid down by the state.
I have a dream that one day my children, and your children will sit side by side to decide the future of this country.
By the way, Kamala has a Nigerian DNA, so submits OBJ.
